QR codes are one of the most effective methods for making the success of your letter campaigns measurable. If your letter template contains a QR code, AutoLetter generates an individual code for each letter. This way, you can track exactly which recipients responded to your letter.
When you insert a QR code placeholder in your letter template, AutoLetter creates a unique QR code for each letter when generating it. This code is linked to the specific recipient and campaign.
The recipient opens the letter and scans the QR code with their smartphone. The code can link to your shop, a landing page, or a special offer.
The QR code first routes through a redirect URL (app.autoletter.eu/qr). Campaign and order parameters are passed along so that AutoLetter can register the scan.
AutoLetter logs the scan with the following data:
After capture, the recipient is automatically forwarded to the destination URL you configured -- e.g., your online shop, a special landing page, or a discount promotion.
QR code scans are displayed in two places in your dashboard:
You can link the QR code to various destinations:
For the QR code to be reliably scanned on the printed letter, it should have a minimum size of 2 x 2 cm. Smaller codes may cause scanning issues depending on print quality and smartphone camera.
AutoLetter places great emphasis on GDPR-compliant use of the QR code feature:
The opt-out URL allows recipients to independently unsubscribe from letter mailings. This is an important component of GDPR compliance. Make sure the opt-out option is clearly visible on your letter.
