When creating a sender address in AutoLetter, you will notice that only Germany is available as the sender country. This is not a bug but a legal requirement.
AutoLetter sends all letters through the DHL E-PostBusiness service. This service is subject to the regulatory requirements of Deutsche Post / DHL. A key requirement is:
All letter mailings must carry a German sender address.
This restriction is legally mandated and cannot be bypassed by AutoLetter. Even if your company is based abroad, you need a sender address in Germany to send through AutoLetter.
If you do not have your own address in Germany, AutoLetter provides a partner address as a fallback. This address is automatically offered as an option in your account:
AutoLetter C/o No Border Greil 1 94496 Ortenburg Germany
You can use this address as your sender address if you do not have a German location yourself.
The AutoLetter partner address is a fallback option and cannot be deleted. You can select it as the sender address for your campaigns at any time.
If you have your own address in Germany (e.g., an office, a warehouse, or a c/o address), you can register it as a sender address:
You can create multiple sender addresses and use a different one for each campaign.
No. Due to DHL E-PostBusiness requirements, only German sender addresses are permitted.
Currently, no expansion to other countries is planned, as this depends on the terms of the DHL service. Should anything change, we will inform you through our dashboard or by email.
Yes. The sender address must be German, but the recipient address can be in any country supported by DHL. AutoLetter sends letters both domestically and internationally.
