After registration, AutoLetter guides you through the entire initial setup with an interactive 12-step tour. The tour explains every important area of the software and helps you set up your first campaign step by step.
The onboarding tour consists of a guided overlay that sits on top of the regular user interface. Each step highlights the relevant area and explains what you need to do there.
Here's how to recognize the tour:
First, you create your sender address. This is the address that will appear as the sender on your letters. You enter your company name, street, postal code, city, and country. The tour guides you through the form and explains which fields are required.
Next, you create your first letter template. You can use the visual editor or upload a finished PDF. The tour shows you the key features of the editor: inserting text, adding placeholders for customer data (like name, address), and adjusting the layout.
Now you connect your data source. The tour explains the available options: Billbee, Shopify, CSV import, or API connection. You select an integration and set up the connection. This is how your customer data flows automatically into AutoLetter.
In these steps, you create your first campaign. The tour walks you through:
Before you can send letters, you need to add a payment method. AutoLetter uses Stripe for billing. You can set up a credit card or other payment methods supported by Stripe. Costs only arise when letters are actually sent.
In the final step, you review all settings and activate your campaign. The tour summarizes what you've set up and gives you the opportunity to review everything one more time before going live.
You don't have to complete the tour all at once. There are several ways to customize the flow:
Tour progress is saved in the browser (local storage). If you clear your browser cache, delete cookies, or use a different browser, the tour may start over. This does not affect your already saved data like addresses, templates, or campaigns.
The onboarding tour starts automatically when the following conditions are met:
If the tour doesn't start automatically, you can always launch it manually via the help icon or the settings in the dashboard.
Even if you skip the tour -- you can perform all the individual steps manually at any time. The tour is just a helpful guide and not a prerequisite for using AutoLetter.
